The renowned Malian guitar legend Samba Touré is returning to GROUNDS following his fantastic show in 2025! And this time for a very special performance, as he will be paying tribute to his mentor Ali Farka Touré, 20 years after his death.

Samba Touré began his career as the lead singer of the band Farafina Lolo, where his exceptional talent caught the attention of the legendary Ali Farka Touré. Under his guidance, Samba Touré made the transition to more traditional music and went on to become one of West Africa’s leading musicians. Since then, he is often asked what influence Ali Farka Touré has had on him. And what better way to answer than with a musical tribute?

Together with Djimé Sissoko (ngoni, tamani) and Souleymane Kane (calabash), he doesn’t simply pay tribute to Ali Farka Touré; instead, they breathe new life into his music in a style all their own.
