Sometimes a band’s name speaks for itself: through their music, Daraa Tribes share the story of their people and culture from Daraa, the world’s largest palm tree valley. So, at GROUNDS, this Moroccan desert blues band will take you on a magical journey to their musical paradise.
Each of the five members belongs to a different tribe and brings a distinct musical tradition with them. And this is precisely what makes the band stand out amongst other desert blues bands. Influences from Gnawa, Sahrawi, Amazigh, Reggada and Ikaaba blend masterfully into an eclectic sound that can only be heard in the oases of the North African Sahara. The fact that they also sing in Tamazight, Hassaniya and Darija further highlights their multi-layered cultural identity.
Their live performances are renowned for their energy, emotional power and intimate nature, transforming every show into a collective ritual of connection and harmony. They have previously performed at events including the Afrika Festival Hertme, Shambala Festival, Water&Sound and countless festivals in their home country. And now they’re coming to GROUNDS to encharm you with their incredible desert blues.
