Our Man In The Field, the project of British singer-songwriter Alex Ellis, offers a captivating blend of indie-folk and Americana with a distinctive soulful country flair. Their sound draws inspiration from legends like Van Morrison, Neil Young, and Wilco, yet cultivates a modern, unique voice.

Blending Americana, indie-folk, and cinematic soul, Ellis crafts songs that feel like short films. Emotional, unvarnished, and built to last. The band continues to push boundaries with their upcoming record, Silverado, recorded at Mark Knopfler’s British Grove Studios. Produced by Dire Straits’ Guy Fletcher, this ambitious project features a star-studded lineup of guest musicians. Including Ethan Johns and Sonny Landreth, with Guy Fletcher also playing on the album.

2026 promises to be a major breakthrough year for the band. Following acclaimed shows in 2025 at SXSW in Austin and the Kilkenny Roots Festival, they delivered standout performances at both Glastonbury – packing the Acoustic Stage with a capacity crowd – and London’s Hyde Park, where they supported Neil Young to tens of thousands of fans. So don’t miss this opportunity to see them perform in an intimate setting at GROUNDS.

Support act: Dan Tuffy & Madelief van Vlijmen

Dan Tuffy is an Australian storyteller, producer and songwriter who has been living in The Netherlands for over 25 years. On his guitar, he creates melodic waves that oscillate between Americana and country noir. Together with (double) bass player Madelief van Vlijmen, he will bring an intimate selection of his greatest hits.

His 2017 solo album Songs from Dan was referred to as a masterpiece by OOR and his 2020 follow-up Letters of Gold gained a lot of international praise. For his 2023 album Country Star he invited the Song Crew, a group of young musicians (which includes Madelief van Vlijmen), to join him. As a result, his familiar dark sound obtained a more poppy and electronic edge. Currently he is working on his new album, which is set to be released in 2026. Fans may also know him from his shows at Numoonfest and Nacht van de Kaap, or as part of The Big Low or Parne Gadje.
