Jakuzi is an Istanbul-based synth-pop band known for blending darkwave, post-punk, new wave and traditional Middle Eastern folk into a melancholic yet danceable sound. Their distinctive aesthetics, emotional depth, and dynamic live performance will take you back on a nostalgic trip to the 80s.
Founded in 2015 by Kutay Soyocak and Taner Yücel, the band quickly gained attention with their debut album, Fantezi Müzik (2017), which was later re-released by Berlin-based label City Slang. Inspired by artists like John Maus, The Human League, and Depeche Mode, the pair has created their own 21st century take on their home country’s time-honoured sound.
Their second album Hata Payı (2019) blends elements of low-fi, new wave, krautrock, and post punk together. It further solidified their reputation with a darker and more introspective sound, offering a home to anyone who has ever felt out of place. The band’s latest album, Madalyon I (2024), continues their evolution, exploring themes of identity, transformation, and emotional struggle with a refined, cinematic production style.

Since releasing their debut single, the Corsican indie band has been relentlessly bringing their music to life on stage, captivating audiences across Paris and throughout France. Their dynamic live performances have allowed them to carve out a name in the indie scene, blending raw energy with finely crafted melodies.
The third single “Garage” from their upcoming album delivers a raw garage rock approach driven by distorted guitars and a tight, relentless rhythm section—blending the visceral energy of early 2000s rock with the electronic edge that defined the era.
With this, the band seems to be hinting at an album that could be more diverse and daring than its previous releases. Fans of Phoenix, Parcels, and Justice will hear familiar elements, but Casablanca Drivers remains primarily faithful to its own raw signature sound.
