Enigmatic Swedish post-psych band Den Der Hale are known for their boundary-pushing soundscapes. Their unique fusion of folk-inspired kraut, gritty psych, and post-rock led to the band’s creation of the term “post-psych” which perfectly encapsulates their distinctive sound.
Den Der Hale was formed in 2019 by Pontus Lindskogen (guitar, vocals), Max Bredberg (guitar), Axel Nelson (drums), Mimosa Baker (synth, vocals), and Ejner Trenter (bass). By filtering rhythmic patterns and atonal melodies with heavy effects and contrasting harsh layers of noise with lively bass lines and driving percussion, they create a sound that is entirely their own. There is always a common thread running through this seemingly chaotic mix, which makes every musical outcome sound very harmonious.
With ‘Pastoral Light’ (2024), the Swedish post-psych quintet has crafted an album that transcends the ordinary, inviting listeners to embark on a journey that delves into the intricacies of human existence and our relationship with the natural world. This album showcases the band’s ability to meld diverse creative inspirations into a seamless and experimental sonic soundscape, transcending genres and defying conventions.

Raw edges, psychedelic soundscapes, Madchester grooves and drawn-out nineties pop songs. With these elements, the Rotterdam band Anemone burst onto the scene in the summer of 2017. But on Freebird (2023), they dig deeper. An album full of psychedelic Britpop with a taste of shimmering folk. On which musical waves crash over each other in extended songs and pointy pop songs that tell about friendships, relationships and trust.
At an Anemone show, you’re drawn into a story ranging from cold autumn nights soaked in red wine to summer breezes on the Spanish coast. After shows at Vestrock, Motel Mozaïque, Popronde, and as supporting act for Triggerfinger, The Animals, and Film School, the band is ready to storm the stage at GROUNDS.
