Tai Allen & Reg Wyns present ICONS 100: Miles & Coltrane – The Classics & The Samples. To celebrate the centenary of Miles Davis and John Coltrane, Tai Allen and Reg Wyns are paying tribute to their musical heroes with a collection of their greatest hits at GROUNDS.

Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Oscar Brown changed music. Ray Brown and Lou Donaldson, also in the 100 club, were jazz and soul masters who still inspire musicians. Their genius created timeless music and birthed amazing modern artists, like: Glasper, Pharcyde, Badu, Johnny Hartman, Kanye, A Tribe Called Quest, Amy Whinehouse, Minnie Riperton, Les Nubians and more.

For this project, Tai Allen and Reg Wyns have brought together a strong line-up to deliver their tribute in superb style on stage. Reg Wyns, while a member of Us3, performed on Cantaloop that includes a Donaldson sample. And Tai Allen himself has been compared to Oscar Brown – vocalist, poet & political activist – and idolized Ray Brown’s production with Quincey Jones. They will be joined by special guests Emanuel Ruffler (keys), who has played with Wallace Roney (a Miles disciple), and John Lander (bass, keys and vocals).
