Wanderlust Festival

Date Thursday 12 June, 2025
Start 13:00

13:00 – 22:00

GROUNDS and Codarts Global Musics proudly present Wanderlust — a two-day festival celebrating the incredible diversity of global music traditions and the creativity of a new generation of artists. Across two stages, inside the shared spaces of Codarts and Grounds, you’ll experience a packed programme of music, food, and cultural exchange.

This festival brings together student ensembles from Codarts Global Musics and the energy of GROUNDS’ diverse artistic community — offering the public a rare opportunity to explore music that spans continents and traditions.

Expect live performances rooted in:

  • Latin America and the Caribbean: including Son Cubano, Afro-Cuban music, Salsa, Samba, Forró, Choro, MPB, Bossa Nova, and Tropicália
  • Eastern Mediterranean and Anatolia: such as Anatolian folk, Classical Ottoman music, and Greek folk
  • Fusions and Collaborations: Jazz, Flamenco, Contemporary music, Arabic and Eastern European influences — and unexpected meetings across musical borders.

Roda de Samba

A vibrant closing celebration of Brazilian Samba on 12 June, featuring students and teachers coming together in musical dialogue and joyful collaboration.

Shared Space, Shared Experience

Wanderlust takes place in both GROUNDS and the Codarts Global Musics building, under one roof. This collaboration is a reflection of the ongoing partnership between our two institutions, supporting emerging artists, cultural innovation, and community connection. Whether you’re an avid listener of global sounds or simply curious to discover something new, this festival offers a warm welcome to everyone.
